1. NEWBORN ACNE: YOUR BABY MAY HAVE PIMPLES ON THE FACE OFF AND ON FOR FIRST FEW MONTHS. NO TREATMENT IS THE BEST TREATMENT.

2. DIARRHEA: YOUR BABY  MAY HAVE BOWEL MOVEMENT WITH EACH FEEDING DURING THE FIRST FEW WEEKS OF LIFE. THAT IS NORMAL AND WILL SLOW DOWN WITHOUT ANY TREATMENT.

3. CONSTIPATION: YOUR BABY MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BOWEL MOVEMENT EVERY DAY. SO LONG YOUR BABY IS VOIDING, NOT VOMITING, DRINKING OKAY AND THE STOOLS ARE NOT HARD, NOTHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. HOWEVER SOMETIMES YOUR BABY WILL NEED DARK CORN OR KARO SYRUP, DEPENDING UPON THE SITUATIONS.

4. VOMITING: YOUR BABY MAY SPIT UP FROM TIME TO TIME. MAKE SURE YOU SUCTION THE NOSE BEFORE YOU SUCTION THE MOUTH. BABIES DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BREATH THROUGH THE MOUTH EFFECTIVELY UNTIL THE AGE OF 6 MONTHS. EXCESSIVE OR REPEATED PROJECTILE VOMITINGS ARE NOT NORMAL AND MAY NEED EVALUATION AND TREATMENTS.

5. COLIC: IS VERY COMMON AND MAY NEED SOME COMMON SENSE INTERVENTIONS. IT USUALLY GOES AWAY BY THE AGE OF 4 MONTHS.

6. JAUNDICE: EVERY BABY GETS JAUNDICE AFTER BIRTH. MOST NEED CAREFUL OBSERVATIONS FOR A FEW TO SEVERAL DAYS. HOW SOME MAY NEED EVALUATIONS AND TREATMENTS.

7. UMBILICAL HERNIA: HERNIA OF THE BELLY BUTTON IS VERY COMMON ,DOES NOT CAUSE ANY DISCOMFORT AND USUALLY NEED NO TREATMENT. IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS TO FEW YEARS TO GO AWAY. HOWEVER IF IT IS VERY LARGE OR GETTING LARGER AND LARGER, YOUR BABY MAY NEED OUT PATIENT MINOR SURGICAL TREATMENT. HERNIAS IN THE GROIN AREAS ARE NOT NORMAL AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

8. CIRCUMCISION: YOU MAY CONSIDER THE PROS AND CONS BEFORE THE CIRCUMCISION. MOST OF THE TIMES IT IS AN UNNECESSARY PROCEDURE.

9. FEVER: DURING THE FIRST ONE MONTH OF LIFE BOTH FEVER AND LOWER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. NORMAL TEMPERATURE RANGES FROM 97.5 TO 98.8.BABY SHOULD BE UNWRAPPED FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES BEFORE CHECKING TO GET ACCURATE VALUES. TEMPERATURES 100.4 F OR HIGHER ARE VERY CONCERNING AND NEED IMMEDIATE EVALUATION. NOT DRINKING WELL, LETHARGY OR ANY OTHER UNUSUAL BEHAVIORS NEED IMMEDIATE EVALUATIONS TOO.

10. COLDS: COLDS ARE USUALLY CAUSED BY VIRUSES AND MAY HAPPEN UP TO 10 TIMES A YEAR DURING THE FIRST 2 YEARS OF LIFE AND UNLESS YOUR BABY IS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS OF AGE AND YOUR BABY IS DOING FINE OTHERWISE, THEY GET SHOULD GET BETTER IN 7 TO 10 DAYS. IF THE NOSE IS STUFFED UP SALINE NOSE DROP AND SUCTION ONE NOSTRIL AT A TIME, INCREASED FLUID INTAKE, TYLENOL ETC. MAY COMFORT THE CHILD. COLD MEDICATIONS ARE USUALLY USELESS AND MAY PROLONG THE RECOVERY. OLDER CHILDREN MAY USE THEM OCCASIONALLY ESPECIALLY NIGHT TIME TO REST AND SLEEP BETTER. EAR INFECTIONS ARE THE MOST COMMON COMPLICATIONS. IF YOU CHILD IS HAVING HIGHER TEMPERATURE, IRRITABLE AND WAKING UP MULTIPLE TIMES AT NIGHT EAR INFECTION MAY BE THE CAUSE. COLD CAN ALSO CAUSE PNEUMONIA, BRONCHIOLITIS ETC. ASTHMA IS USUALLY PRECIPITATED BY ATTACKS OF COLD.
